About Resize Image in KB
Resize Image in KB shrinks a photo so the file is at or below the size you type, for example 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB or 200 KB. Many job, exam, visa and government forms only accept pictures under a size limit, and this tool finds the highest quality that still fits.
It tries the best JPG or WebP quality first and lowers it only as far as needed. If the file is still too big at a low quality, it also reduces the picture dimensions a little and tries again, and it tells you when it did. Everything is done in your browser, so the picture is not uploaded.
How to use Resize Image in KB
- Choose an image.
- Type the target size in KB or press a preset such as 50 KB.
- Pick JPG or WebP and press Resize to target.
- Check the preview and the size shown, then download.
Help & FAQ
How do I resize an image to 50 KB or 100 KB?
Choose your picture, type the size or press a preset button, and press Resize to target. The tool picks the highest JPG or WebP quality that stays under the size.
Will it reduce the quality of my picture?
A little, because a smaller file needs more compression. The tool keeps the quality as high as the target allows, and only reduces the dimensions when the target is very small. Always check the preview.
Why is the result a little smaller than my target?
The tool looks for the largest file that fits under the target, so the result is usually slightly below it, and it never goes over. It counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the file also fits portals that count 1,024 bytes.
Can it make a small image bigger in KB?
No. Adding empty data does not improve the picture and some websites reject such files. If you need a larger file, start from a higher-quality original.
Why only JPG and WebP?
JPG and WebP let the tool tune the file size with a quality setting. PNG files cannot be sized that way, so a PNG is converted to JPG or WebP.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The picture is processed in your browser on your own device and is not sent to our servers.
Is my data safe?
Yes. This tool runs in your browser, so what you type or open stays on your device and is not uploaded to Toolysite.
What is the file size limit?
This tool runs in your browser and accepts files up to 50 MB each. Server-processed tools allow free users 40 MB per file and 5 jobs/day; Premium allows larger files.
Is anything saved?
Nothing you enter is saved on our servers. Only preferences such as favourites and recently used tools are kept in your browser.
