About Invoice Requirements by Country
The Invoice Requirements by Country tool lists what an invoice must contain in six countries. Pick a country to see the required items, the extra rules such as thresholds, time limits and language, and links to the official source, together with a note on when it was checked.
It is useful when you issue invoices to customers abroad, set up a business in a new market, or want to check an invoice made with the Invoice Generator. It is general information, not legal or tax advice, and rules change, so confirm with the official source or an accountant.
How to use Invoice Requirements by Country
- Choose the country.
- Read the required items and the extra rules.
- Open the official source if you need the exact wording.
- Use Copy checklist to paste the list into your invoice template.
Templates are a starting point. Requirements for invoices, receipts and contracts differ by country, so check the local rules or ask an accountant or lawyer.

Is this list complete?
It lists the main items required by law or official guidance for each country. Special cases such as exports, margin schemes and reverse charge have extra rules, so check the official source.
Where can I make an invoice?
Use the Invoice Generator or the UK Invoice Templates on Toolysite, then compare the result with the checklist for your country.
How current is the information?
Each country shows when it was checked and which official document it is based on. Tax rules change, so treat the checklist as a starting point.
