Help & FAQ

How do I remove GST from a price?

Divide the GST-inclusive price by 1 plus the rate. For 18%, 11,800 rupees divided by 1.18 is 10,000 rupees, and the GST is 1,800 rupees.

What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?

For a sale inside one state, GST is split equally between the Centre (CGST) and the state (SGST or UTGST). For a sale between states, the whole amount is charged as IGST.

Which GST rates apply now?

After the 56th GST Council meeting, effective 22 September 2025, most items are at 5% or 18%, with 40% for a short list of sin and luxury goods. Always check the rate for your item.
