About India Income Tax Calculator (New Regime FY 2026-27)

Enter your annual income, say whether it is salary, and it applies the standard deduction, the slab rates, the Section 87A rebate with marginal relief, any surcharge and the 4% health and education cess.
Under the new regime the rebate makes tax zero when taxable income is up to 12 lakh rupees, and salaried people also get a 75,000 rupee standard deduction. The old regime, capital gains and other special-rate income are not included. Everything is calculated in your browser, and you should confirm the final figures on the Income Tax Department site.

Help & FAQ
Is income up to 12 lakh really tax-free?
Under the new regime the Section 87A rebate of up to 60,000 rupees makes tax zero when taxable income is up to 12 lakh. Salaried people also get a 75,000 rupee standard deduction, so salary up to about 12.75 lakh ends up with no tax.
What is marginal relief?
Just above 12 lakh rupees, the tax payable is capped at the amount by which income exceeds 12 lakh, so a small rise in income never costs more tax than the extra income. Similar relief applies at the surcharge thresholds.
Does it include the old regime?
No. This calculator covers the new regime only, because the old regime depends on many deductions such as 80C and HRA.
